My References

I am grateful to be supported by the following references, people who have guided and worked with me throughout my academic journey so far. Each individual has firsthand experience with my approach to learning, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to personal growth.

These references offer a meaningful insight into my character, work ethic, and academic abilities, as well as my readiness to take on the challenges of future study and beyond. Their perspectives reflect my development as a student and my motivation to contribute positively to whatever I apply myself to.

Reed Holland Architects

David Drummond  |  Director

“During her time in the office, Molly designed and modelled a lifeguard station and quickly proved herself to be both enthusiastic and highly capable.  She approached tasks with curiosity, confidence and a genuine interest in architecture.

Molly demonstrated real creative ability in her ideas and drawings, demonstrating a strong creative instinct for design, proportion and conceptual thinking. She also quickly grasped new software (SketchUp and Lumion) to generate high-quality images of her design project.

Beyond her creative skills, Molly was, quite simply, a pleasure to have around the studio. She was polite, reliable and engaged well with everyone in the practice. She listened carefully, took feedback on board and applied it thoughtfully, which is a valuable quality at any stage of architectural training.

Overall, Molly’s performance during the week strongly suggests that she has a natural aptitude for the world of architecture, and I have no doubt that she would do very well if she chose to pursue this path further.
I would, without any hesitation, happily recommend her for future study or work experience opportunities.”

Philip Ainsworth  |  Design & Technology Lecturer

“I am pleased to provide this reference for Molly, who has been studying Design and Technology. Throughout the course, she has produced work of a consistently good standard, particularly in practical and project-based tasks. Molly approaches hands-on work with enthusiasm and confidence, and she is usually keen to try out new techniques, tools, and materials as her projects develop.

Molly shows a strong work ethic and a positive attitude towards learning. She engages well in lessons, responds constructively to feedback, and shows a clear willingness to refine and improve her work over time. Her project outcomes are well planned and executed, demonstrating a balance of creativity and sound technical understanding.

Alongside her practical strengths, Molly is making good progress in the theoretical elements of the course. She has a secure grasp of key concepts and is becoming increasingly confident in applying theory to justify and inform her design decisions. Based on her current level of commitment and performance, she is on track to achieve a good grade.

Overall, I believe Molly is well-suited to further study within a creative or design-based field, and I am confident she would be a positive addition to any university course.”

Harriet Parker  |  Fine Art Lecturer

“Molly is a conscientious and hardworking student who approaches creative work with maturity and commitment. She is able to manage projects independently, developing sophisticated themes and ideas into well-considered outcomes.

Her practice demonstrates strong technical ability in drawing and printmaking, alongside confident mixed media experimentation and conceptual thinking.

In her current project exploring her father’s OCD, Molly works across both 2D and time-based media, using video to inform abstract printmaking and cataloguing processes. She reflects thoughtfully throughout her projects, using ongoing review to guide decisions and refine her work.

Molly also carries out purposeful primary and secondary research, analysing relevant artists to strengthen her own practice. Her work is consistently thoughtful, well developed, and supported by clear creative intent.”
